The Sage 3800 series reels are smooth, have great drag, won't be affected by ice build up (hello steelhead guys), and are light! The frame is made of aluminum, and the spool is made of carbon fiber (you know, the stuff they made Lance Armstrongs $10,000.00 bike of). Carbon fiber is lighter and stronger than steel. It is also unaffected by heat and cold. The number drag knob is HUGE, a big plus when wearing gloves. I have used these reels as my main ones for one full guide season and love them. Available in both natural carbon color and orange. Available in 5/6 and 7/8 weight.
